Mrs Lucy Howard

SENCo & Deputy DSL

I am lucky enough to be in a role that I relish as SENCO at Estcots. It is a role that allows me to be able to work with children across the whole school and be involved with making sure the provision that they receive is tailored to their individual needs. Additionally, to this working with families to make sure children with SEND get holistic support, both in school and at home, is central to my approach as SENCO.  My role also allows me to support my colleagues here at Estcots to provide bespoke support for children with SEND in their class by accessing a range of in school resources and interventions and working closely with West Sussex to access the appropriate outside agency for each child.

I work alongside an amazing inclusion team including our learning mentor and play therapist who are able to offer a therapeutic approach to the provision our children with SEND receive.

A Few Things About Me

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My spare time is spent cooking, swimming, reading and crafting. Whilst I enjoy travelling, particularly to and around Denmark, my real love is being cosy at home. I love spending time outdoors and feel very lucky to live in this fantastic part of the country where there is so much to do on our doorstep. We  take full advantage of this as a family with long dog walks, bike rides, days out at the beach and trips up to London.

As a family we love being outside and feel incredibly lucky to live in this fantastic part of the country where there is so much to do on our doorstep. We often spend weekends and evenings walking, going for bike rides, visiting national trust properties and open water swimming. We enjoy socialising with friends and family and enjoy days out, theatre trips and  eating out as a family.
