Mrs Laura Rogers

Year 2 Teacher

It has been an hour and a pleasure to work at Estcots for over 10 years. During this time I have been lucky enough to work in all year groups.

My passion is teaching in EYFS and KS1. The feeling I get form seeing children learn things for the first time is so special.

My key aim is to make learning fun and for children to leave school happy and excited about the adventures they’ve had at school.

A Few Things About Me

I have 3 wonderful boys who make my life very exciting! We spend most weekends outside, usually exploring a National Trust place. When I get time of my own I enjoy going to yoga and swimming.

We have a lovely big family around us so weekends usually end with a Sunday roast all together having a goggle around the table.

I really enjoy working at Estcots I must do as I have been teaching here for  a staggering 16 years both full and part time!!

The school is a very special place to work and the children are always very  enthusiastic about their learning. There is never a dull moment!

A Few Things About Me

When I am not teaching I have two boys that keep me very busy. I love spending time with my family and friends, visiting as many places as I can, swimming and curling up with a good book.

Year 2 Teacher & Phase 1 Leader

I have been a teacher since 2006 and have worked all over the south east and London. I enjoy my job as much as I did when I first started to teach. Perhaps more now as the first day nerves have gone.

The best part of being a teacher is the wonderful children. Seeing their faces when the perseverance has paid off. The joy they feel when their piece of work, amazing thought or question is shared with the class. The children make the school the brilliant place it is.

The staff are a superb team but the children are the ones who makes us laugh, cry and want to be better teachers to help them progress. We are very lucky at Estcots to experience the wider curriculum. For our children to have experts teach them sport and art is amazing. Their spongy brains sucking up all the facts is a wonderful sight to see. It never gets tiresome.

A Few Things About Me

I have had the pleasure of being a pupil at Estcots, a member of staff and recently a parent too. The building and learning experiences are unrecognisable from when I was a pupil here and I very much enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. With corridors full of colour and noisy learning environments.

My family and I live locally and enjoy the beautiful countryside in and around East Grinstead, many a weekend spent in the Ashdown forest or walking along the worth way. Playing rugby and watching (a personal favourite hobby of mine) up at the club also a weekend pastime. We really enjoy being part of the local community.

Teaching Assistant

I have been at Estcots for over 15 years. Previously I ran a local pre-school and before that had a career in banking.

I am married with 2 grown up children who attended local schools. I really enjoy working with the children at Estcots and have had the privilege of watching some of them start as shy reception children, blossom into confident year 6 ‘s and now find that some of them are appearing as very personable young adults in their Saturday jobs in the town!

Being part of the dedicated and hard working Estcots team who always put the children first and enable this to happen is very rewarding.

A Few Things About Me

When not in school, I am a keen gardener, dressmaker, National Trust visitor and I also like to try out the “Bake Off” recipes with varying degrees of success!
