Clerk to the Governors
I have had a long and happy association with Estcots School which my three children all attended. As a parent volunteer I helped with sewing and listening to children read. Later I was employed as a Teaching Assistant for children with Special Needs and also as a Midday Meals Supervisor.
I served on the Governing Body for 4 years as a Parent Governor. In 2003 I was appointed to the role of Bursar and remained in this role until my retirement in 2014. Since retiring I have been pleased to maintain my link with the school via my role as Clerk to Governors.

Year 1 Teacher and Staff Governor
I have been fortunate to work at Estcots for 3 years now; I began working as a Cover Supervisor. In this role I was lucky enough to work across the entire school and with all the children. It was a delight to be able to work with different phases and experience the learning that they were engrossed in and to see the progression throughout the school.
During this role there was never a day the same as I was in a different class each day. After 2 years, I became one of the EYFS Class Teachers. Working with EYFS children is an exciting journey, sharing their new learning and watching them develop as young learners.
I am incredibly lucky to have been able to work across the whole school and now have my own class in EYFS.

A Few Things About Me
Outside of school life I enjoy keeping active and spending time with family and friends. I am a keen cyclist, cycling a variety of distances at weekends.
I also enjoy playing netball and regularly play with a local club as well as going to the cinema.

Chair of Governors
I am the assistant priest at St Swithun’s Church East Grinstead working full time in the the parish. My job is very varied including baptisms, weddings, funerals and weekly services in church as well as visiting the sick and housebound.
I co-ordinate the work we do with families and run one of our Tea and Toys groups. I also run courses helping people to grow in the Christian Faith but one of the most enjoyable aspects is my links with local schools.
I have been a governor at Estcots since 2003 and thoroughly enjoying seeing children progress through the school.

A Few Things About Me
I have a Labrador dog and she keeps me fit and healthy and in any spare time I love gardening and playing with my grandchildren.

Deputy Headteacher
I feel very lucky to have joined the Estcots team this year, as both Deputy Head and Governor. I have been welcomed warmly by the whole Estcots community. I have been teaching for over 20 years and am still constantly surprised by the many talents and level of enthusiasm children display.
Although Education Policy may be changing at a rapid pace, the entitlement of our young people to a first class education remains at the heart of everything we do. I look forward to working closely with the Governing body to ensure that high expectations and the wellbeing of all the children in our care remain a priority.

A Few Things About Me
When not at work, I like to relax at the cinema , visit art galleries or enjoy a night at the theatre with family and friends. I particularly like adventure travel that takes me out of my comfort zone and gives me the chance to try something new.
It’s good to be reminded that we are constantly asking children to do just that. I have a long list of places and experiences on my list! So far, these have included white-water rafting in Costa Rica, snorkelling in Thailand and travelling to Tibet on the highest railway in the world.
