In Science this week, Year 1 went on a minibeast hunt around the school grounds. We carefully lifted pots and stones and we dug around in cold, damp soil. Our magnifying glasses helped us to spot even the tiniest of creatures! We found a whole family of snails, a huge number of spiders, woodlice, centipedes and worms, plus many more.
We thought carefully about the habitat in which we discovered the minibeasts, and tried to use words to describe each habitat such as light / dark, dry / damp and warm / cold.
