What a wonderful collection of robots we have received! Thank you to everyone for the time and dedication you’ve shown in producing them. We’ve got models, artwork and computer generated designs filling the classrooms.
This week, we have been busy typing up and editing our letters from Hogarth, coding our games and researching significant scientists and inventors using the laptops. We’ve been exploring graphs and charts in Maths, while our DT sessions have concluded our wooden mazes. Netball matches have developed our teamwork skills and we’ve been really impressed by some excellent displays of sportsmanship.
Next week will see us starting a four week block of work on newspaper reports. Our focus in the first week will be on the conventions of newspapers, headline writing and how headings and sub-headings are used. Our Maths lessons will continue to examine data handling before we move on to fractions.
We will be celebrating World Book Day on the Friday with all sorts of book and author related activities.
In addition to this, we will be conducting some of this term’s formal assessments with Mental Arithmetic and Reading Comprehension this week. These papers are used to celebrate progress and help inform teachers on the next steps and support needed for individual pupils.
