Here’s the news from our week. This Week: Our Iron Man topic is now well underway. Pupils have become very familiar with the first chapter of the story. This has inspired their onomatopoeia poetry and their chalk illustrations. Poetry has also been explored in our Guided Reading sessions and we have seen and heard some lovely poetry performances. The Iron Man’s coastal location has also been investigated, with the varied landscapes and formations of the British coast studied.
Next Week: We will continue to explore the early chapters of The Iron Man next week. In English, we will be retelling the story so far in rhyming form. Our coastal studies will continue by looking at how caves, arches, stacks and stumps are formed. Science sessions will explore electrical circuits to get our Iron Man’s eyes to light up, while our History focus will be on great innovators and inventors.
In ICT, we will be designing and developing our own sprites, ready for our maze games and animation. Our DT session will explore the history and design of real-life mazes before we begin to make our own wooden puzzles.
